French architect
Manuelle Gautrand unveils her Tena Tower project for the town of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso, West Africa. This project has been selected by real estate investment company Real TACAMA FZE. This project is currently in the study phase. The construction is expected to begin 2013.
The tower will be built around the new 180,000 square-meter manmade lake which plays a role in the design of the tower.
This 29,25-meter (96ft) Tena Tower masterplan includes 80 villas, a park system, and a number of mixed used facilities.
14 massive groves of photovoltaic cells will power the villas and facilities.
The architects used metallic panels that will be extended beyond the facade. While these panels will be twisted to efficiently filter light, these will maintain views to the surrounding landscape.
